Asian shares today fell amid fears about the spread of the Delta variant of the coronavirus. Asian stocks slipped even as the US inflation eased for July and investor showed confidence in the US stocks considering that Federal Reserve would not rush to reduce its economic support.
Hong Kong’s Hang Seng declined half a percent and South Korea’s KOSPI fell 0.4 percent. China’s Shanghai Composite Index and Japan’s NIKKEI-225, slipped 0.2 percent. Singapore’s Straits Times added marginally by 0.1 percent.
European stocks were mixed and trading in a narrow range in intra day trade. London’s FTSC-100 was down 0.2 percent while France’s CAC gained 0.2 percent and Germany’s DAX was up 0.4 percent.
