What is Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme?

The central Government started the Prime Minister Kisan Samman Yojana on December 1, 2018 for the farmers. Under this scheme, the government deposits an instalments of Rs 2,000 in the bank account of farmers every four months. So, Rs 6,000 get directly transferred to the bank account of farmers annually. More than 11.74 crore farmers have benefited from the scheme so far.

State wise Beneficiaries count of PM-KISAN scheme has been given below (Status update as on date. 08/08/2021).

The government has given seven installments to the farmers ever since the inception of the scheme in December 2018. The Central government’s Rs 75,000-crore scheme aims to cover 125 million farmers, irrespective of the size of their landholding in the country.

Under the scheme, all the landholding farmers’ families, subject to certain exclusion criteria, get the benefit. This Scheme does not restrict any eligible beneficiary from getting the benefit of other Schemes prevailing in the Government.

Farmers can easily register themselves both online or offline to avail the benefits under the scheme. Farmers can also register themselves through Common Service Centres or online through the official website, i.e. www.pmkisan.gov.in/.
