Rain hit 1st Test between India & England ends in a draw

In Cricket, the first Test between India and England in Nottingham has ended in a draw this evening after rain played spoil-sport on the final day at Trent Bridge.

India was on the verge of winning the opening test as they needed just 157 runs to achieve the target but rain did not allow the start of the play.

Earlier, the visitors bundled out the hosts for 303 in their second innings riding on Jasprit Bumrah’s five wicket haul.

This is Bumrah’s second five-wicket haul at Trent Bridge.

Mohammed Siraj and Shardul Thakur got two wickets each. England set a target of 209 runs for India to win the first Test.

In the first innings, India posted 278 runs in reply to England’s 183, taking a lead of 95 runs.
