CBI arrests two more persons in case relating to derogatory posts on social media against judges & judiciary

The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested two more persons on Saturday in a case relating to derogatory posts on social media against judges and the judiciary.

The two arrested accused are being produced today before the Competent Court in Guntur in Andhra Pradesh.

Prior to this, CBI had arrested two accused on July 28 during the investigation.

The first arrest in the case was made by CBI on July 9th. Five persons have so far been arrested by CBI in this case.

CBI had registered a case on November 11 last year against 16 accused and taken over the investigation of 12 FIRs from CID, State of Andhra Pradesh in pursuance of the orders of Andhra Pradesh High Court.

It was alleged that the accused, made derogatory posts on social media platform against Judges and Judiciary, following some Court verdicts delivered by the Judges of High Court of Andhra Pradesh.

Searches were also conducted by CBI at the premises of accused persons which led to recovery of several incriminating documents.
