PM Modi interacts with beneficiaries of PMGKAY in Madhya Pradesh

The Prime Minister, Narendra Modi interacted with the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY) in Madhya Pradesh today via video conferencing.

An intensive campaign to create more awareness about the scheme is being conducted by the state government so that no eligible person is left out.

The state is celebrating 7th August, 2021 as Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana Day.

Governor and Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh were also present on the occasion. About 5 crore beneficiaries are benefitting through the scheme in Madhya Pradesh.

While addressing the programme, Prime Minister expressed his concerns about the flood situation in many districts of MP.

He felt sad about the loss of lives and livelihoods of many companions. In this difficult hour, he said, the Government of India and the entire country stand with Madhya Pradesh.

Referring to the Corona pandemic as once in a century calamity, the Prime Minister said that entire nation stood as one entity to fight against the challenge.

He reiterated that, during the crisis, India accorded highest priority to the poor.

From the very first day, attention was paid to the food and employment of the poor and labourers.

Not only more than 80 crore citizens are getting free ration but more than 8 crore poor families got free gas cylinders.

Prime Minister said that be it the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana or the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Rozgar Yojana, the food and employment of the poor and workers were secured from the day one.

In this time of worldwide crisis on livelihood, it is constantly being ensured that there is minimum loss in India.

For this, many steps have been taken and are being taken continuously. Considerable funds have provided to small, small, micro industries to continue their work.

He said that, Today, if the schemes of the government are reaching the ground faster, and are being implemented, there is a change in the functioning of the government behind it.

Today, roads are being built in every village of the country, new jobs are being created, farmers have access to markets, poor people are able to reach hospitals on time in case of illness.

Mr. Moldi said that another big campaign to empower villages, poor, tribals has been launched in the country.

This campaign is to encourage our handicrafts, handloom and our workmanship of cloth.

This campaign is to be vocal towards the local. With this spirit, the country is celebrating National Handloom Day today.

Prime Minister lauded the state government for record MSP purchase. Madhya Pradesh, this year, purchased wheat from more than 17 lakh farmers and 25 thousand crore rupees were directly deposited in their account.

The state established maximum number of wheat purchase centres this year.

Prime Minister said that the State of Madhya Pradesh has established a technologically robust Public Distribution System.

The distribution of foodgrains in the State is done with maximum transparency, with an average of more than 90.6 % of Aadhaar authenticated PDS transactions which is progressively increasing in the recent months.

Prime minister spoke to beneficiary Rajendra sharma ,auto rickshaw driver from Burhanpur.

Rajendra sharma said that besides Anna yojna he also received benefit under jan dhan and other schemes.

He also thanked PM for the help during lockdown period.

Prime minister also spoke to Beneficiary Maya Uikey from Hoshangabad . She said that free ration received under the scheme has benefitted her during crisis period of lockdown.

Prime Minister also interacted with beneficiary Deep kumar kori from Satna.

He informed that there is no problem in getting the free ration.

He also thanked PM for assistance by government. Prime Minister also interacted with beneficiary Chandrabhan Vishwakarma from Niwari .

In Madhya Pradesh Under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, free ration is being distributed through 25 thousand 435 fair price shops in the state.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan said that Madhya Pradesh is one of the 32 states in the country where the eligible beneficiaries under One Nation One Ration Card have the facility to take ration from any nearby fair price shop.
