More than 1 crore 12 lakh housing units sanctioned under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) so far

More than 1 crore 12 lakh housing units have been sanctioned under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) to date and the beneficiaries have already moved in 50 lakh housing units.

This was disclosed by Union Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs, Hardeep Singh Puri in an exclusive interview to All India Radio News. He said that more than 11 Lakh crore rupees have been spent by the Government in the past 6 years in the urban housing sector.

Mr Puri highlighted that the Real Estate Regulatory Authorities have been a game-changer in the real estate sector. Talking about Urban Mobility, he said that the goal is to move people, not cars.
