Activities under ‘Ek Bharat Shresht Bharat’ taken place between J&K, Tamil Nadu

The ongoing “Ek Bharat Shresht Bharat campaign” of the Government of India presently being carried-out by All India Radio is aimed at actively enhancing interaction between the people of diverse cultures living in different states and Union Territories of India with the objective of promoting greater mutual understanding amongst them. Accordingly, the exchange of activities under the theme Ek Bharat Shresht Bharat have taken place between J&K and Tamil Nadu on this front in the very recent past. AIR Srinagar Correspondent reports that under the campain, Ek Bharat Shresht Bharat (EBSB), the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir has been paired with the southern state of Tamil Nadu.

A multi-level exchange of programmes usually take place between both the regions and the people subsequently get acquainted to the two distinct and rich cultures prevalent in the regions. In the recent past on 26th of June this year, an online activity was organised wherein a Documentary on the famous “Dachigam National Park” of Kashmir was screened to the audience of Tamil Nadu.

The Documentary was highly appreciated by the students and staff of Hotel Management Institutes of both Chennai & Jammu and Kashmir. More than 200 participants attended the online activity who were present on the occasion. It is worthwhile to mention that “Dachigam National Park” in Kashmir is located about 22 kilometers from Srinagar and is best known as the home of Kashmiri Stag, popularly known as “Hanguel” in Kashmir.
