Highest number of positive cases of COVID-19 reported after gap of more than a month in Leh

In Leh, highest number of positive cases of COVID-19 have been reported today, after a gap of more than a month. After continuous daily decline, Ladakh saw surge in infections with report of 20 new cases during the past twenty four hours.

AIR correspondent reports that the COVID situation had been under control in Ladakh in June and July, with low number of daily cases. However, with sudden reporting of 20 new cases during the last twenty four hours in Leh, shook the region. Increasing inflow of tourists and various sections of public is seen as one of the reasons in the rise in number of infections.

UT Ladakh has 71 active positive cases, including 67 in Leh itself. Meanwhile, after 100 per cent coverage of 1st dose, so far UT Ladakh has achieved 76.75 per cent the second dose of COVID vaccination.
