Flood like situation has emerged due to heavy rain at some places in Kota division of Rajasthan. Life has been badly affected in Kota, Baran, Bundi and Jhalawar districts of the division. Rail traffic has been disrupted due to rain between Indergarh Sumerganj Mandi and Amli railway stations of Kota Rail Division.
More than 100 villages in Baran district have lost their connectivity with the district headquarter. Many villages have become islands. More than 500 people have been rescued by the district administration from different places. Several roads have also been blocked in Kota and Bundi districts. 200 people have been shifted to safer places due to water logging at many places in Lakheri town.
Excess water is being removed by opening three gates of Kalisindh dam in Jhalawar district. On the other hand, Chambal River is running above the danger mark in Dholpur district, where about 40 villages are now facing a flood threat . Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has said in his tweet message that relief teams and civil defense are engaged in relief and rescue work.
