After providing food and rice free of cost to about 50 thousand people during COVID pandemic, a Human Resources Manager of a software company in Hyderabad now started providing livelihoods to the needy. He is Dosapati Ramu, who started a Rice ATM (Anytime Meal) in Hyderabad during the pandemic, is now ensuring livelihoods to people who suffered due to the pandemic under Rice ATM 2.0. Mr Ramu has so far provided livelihood to over 700 people.
Drawing inspiration from the wife of a watchman, who helped migrant workers during the lockdown, he started the Rice ATM to ensure food to the poor and needy during the lockdown. However, to resolve their problems on a permanent basis, he started helping the needy by supporting them to earn their living and started coordinating with people who come forward to help the poor. Now, without collecting money from anyone, Mr Ramu is providing livelihood to over 700 families during the second year of COVID pandemic.
Speaking to AIR News, Mr Ramu said, this is the time when one has to give back to society.
