Asian markets ended mostly lower on Tuesday, as uncertainties surrounding the impact of rising coronavirus cases in the region weighed. So Japan’s Nikkei-225 index and China’s Shanghai Composite index fell 0.5 percent, each; Singapore’s Straits Times index slipped 0.4 percent and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index shed 0.2 percent. But South Korea’s Kospi index gained 0.4 percent.
In Europe, London’s FTSE-100 had gained 0.5 percent; France’s CAC-40 had climbed 0.9 percent and Germany’s DAX had gained 0.1 percent, in intra-day trade.
