Youth Affairs and Sports and Information and Broadcasting minister Anurag Thakur today congratulated Indian hockey teams. Speaking to media outside Parliament, Mr Thakur said they gave splendid performances .He wished them all the best on behalf of 135 crore Indians for forthcoming important games. He also congratulated PV Sindhu who won bronze medal yesterday and Mirabai Chanu, who won the silver medal earlier.
Expressing happiness that India’s daughters have won two medals so far, the minister said, Lovlina gave a terrific performance and this has given hope to the country.
Law and Justice Minister Kiren Rijiju also congratulated Indian hockey teams participating in Tokyo Olympics. Talking to media outside Parliament, he said men and women hockey teams have reached semi-finals. The Minister said they are now two steps away from victory. Men’s team is playing in semi-finals after 49 years. He said, P V Sindhu is India’s pride as only few players are destined to win two medals in Olympics.
