India’s cumulative COVID vaccination coverage has surpassed 47.78 crore on Monday. Union Health Ministry said that more than 37 crore vaccine doses were administered as first dose and ten crore 57 lakh vaccice doses given as second doses so far. The new phase of universalization of COVID-19 vaccination commenced from 21st of June this year.
The Ministry said, more than 53 lakh 67 thousand vaccine doses have been administered today. Over 27 lakh 76 thousand vaccine doses were administered as first dose and more than four lakh 82 thousand vaccine doses given as second dose in the age group 18 to 44 years today. Cumulatively, over 15 crore 99 lakh persons in the age group 18 to 44 years across 37 States and UTs have received their first dose.
The Ministry said, five states namely Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh have administered more than one crore cumulative doses of COVID-19 vaccine in the age group 18 to 44 years. Besides, Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Haryana, Jharkhand, Kerala, Telangana, Himachal Pradesh, Odisha, Punjab, Uttarakhand and West Bengal have vaccinated more than 10 lakh beneficiaries of the age group 18 to 44 years for the first dose of COVID vaccine.
