Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Monday visited the flood-hit areas in Sangli district including Bhilwadi, Ankalkhop, Kasbe-Digraj to take stock of the situation and reviewed steps taken by the District Administration towards flood management.
Mr. Thackeray assured the flood victims of complete assistance by the State Government and said that the state machinery is engaged in assessing the damage caused by the deluge. He also stressed that there is a need to devise a permanent solution to the frequent flood crisis and take stringent steps towards it.
The Chief Minister interacted with the flood victims who made several demands. He told them that a discussion will be held on the suggestions made by them in tomorrow’s Cabinet meeting. He reiterated that the State Government stands in solidarity with those affected and every possible help will be extended to them.
The Chief Minister has been touring flood-ravaged areas of the Konkan region and western Maharashtra over the last few days after some parts of the state faced deluge following heavy rains last month.
