In Mizoram, the current total lockdown in Aizawl has been extended for another week and this will continue till 7th of August. The decision was taken today in a state level COVID-19 meeting chaired by the Health Minister Dr. R. Lalthangliana.
The meeting resolved that since the pandemic is reaching its peak particularly in the capital city, the Disaster Management Authority advocated for total lockdown to continue for another week in the Aizawl Municipal Area to control the spread of the pandemic. The meeting has also confirmed that mass testing in various localities in the city will also be continued during the period.
The State Government clamped a total lockdown in Aizawl Municipal Corporation area from 18th of July to midnight today in view of the surge in COVID positive cases.
