Overall cap of admissible guarantee of ECLGS further raised to 4.5 lakh crore RS 4.5 lakh crore on June 26: Narayan Rane

Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Narayan Rane informed that the overall cap of admissible guarantee of Emergency Credit Line Guarantee Scheme- ECLGS has been further raised from three lakh crore to 4.5 lakh crore rupees on 26th of June this year. In a written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha today, the  Minister said, the ECLGS was announced as a part of the Atmanirbhar Bharat Package-2020 with the objective to help MSMEs and Small businesses to meet their operational liabilities and resume businesses in view of the distress caused by the COVID-19 crises.

The Minister further said, as on 2nd July this year, around 1.09 crore MSME borrowers have been provided with guarantee support amounting to 1.65 lakh crore rupees as a part of Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyaan under the Emergency Credit Line Guarantee Scheme- ECLGS. He said, as per Udyog Adhaar Portal more than one crore two lakh 32 thousand MSMEs registered in India since September 2015 to June 2020.
