Over 45 crore COVID vaccine doses administered in country so far; Recovery rate stands at 97.38 pct

Over 43 lakh 92 thousand vaccine doses were administered to the eligible beneficiaries in the country during the last 24 hours. With this, more than 45 crore seven lakh vaccine doses have been administered so far under Nationwide Vaccination Drive. Union Health Ministry in a statement said that the country has reported 43 thousand 509 new cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours. The country’s active caseload is currently at four lakh three thousand and 840. The active cases constitute 1.28 per cent of the total reported cases so far.

A total of 38 thousand 465 patients also recovered from the infection during the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to more than three crore seven lakh one thousand. The recovery rate is currently at 97.38 per cent.

The Ministry said, Weekly positivity rate in the country remains below five per cent and is currently at 2.38 per cent. Daily positivity rate stands at 2.52 per cent. The Ministry said, testing capacity has been substantially ramped up and 46.26 crore tests for COVID-19 have been conducted in total. Yesterday, more than 17 lakh 28 thousand tests for COVID -19 were conducted.
