The Union government today said more than 4 crore cases are pending in courts across the country.
Law and Justice Minister Kiren Rijiju informed the Lok Sabha that the large number of pending cases mostly in local courts is a matter of concern.
He said, several initiatives including appointment of judges against vacant posts, infrastructure development of courts has been taken to reduce the number of pending cases.
The Minister said that the Government is committed to provide all kinds of basic facilities to the Judiciary so the prevalent situation is changed.
