Renowned spiritual leader Hariprasad Swami passes away

Renowned spiritual leader and founder of Yogi Divine Society Hariprasad Swami passed away in Vaodara last night. He was 87 and undergoing treatment for kidney disease.

AIR correspondent reports that his body will be kept for Antim Darshan during 27th to 31st July at Haridham Sokhada in Vadodara district. His last rites will be performed on 1st of August.

Chief Minister Vijay Rupani has extended his condolences on the demise of Hariprasad Swami. In a tweet, Mr Rupani said Swamiji’s contribution in the field education, de-addiction and spirituality will always be remembered.

Born in 1934, Hariprasad Swami was associated with Akshar Purushottam Sanstha in early life. In 1965, he was given Deeksha by Yogiji Maharaj, a guru of Pramukh Swami Maharaj. Later, in 1966, he  separated from Akshar Purushottam Sanstha and founded Yogi Divine Society in 1974 at Haridham Sokhada in Vadodara district.
