The start up sector in India and Bangladesh are set to work closely as both countries gear up to attract innovators and entrepreneurs to cooperate with each other.
A 6-part webinar series named ‘Shoto Borsho Shoto Asha- Rise Up’ was inaugurated on Monday by the Bangladesh State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak and High Commissioner of India to Bangladesh Vikram Doraiswami.
Speaking at the inaugural programme, High Commissioner Vikram Doraiswami said that in the next 6 months the RiseUp platform will bring together mentors, innovators, entrepreneurs and investors from India and Bangladesh. He expressed the hope that it will facilitate cross learning opportunities for talented entrepreneurs of both the countries. Vikram Doraiswami recalled that during the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Bangladesh in March this year, he had invited 50 Bangladesh entrepreneurs to visit India and connect with India’s startup and innovation ecosystem. The High Commissioner said that the RiseUp series could facilitate linkages to jumpstart the cooperation in a tangible manner.
State ICT Minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak welcomed the initiative and said that increased cooperation between the startup sectors of the two countries will be mutually beneficial.
