Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister Dr. C N Ashwatha Narayana who holds the higher education portfolio has said that the Higher education institutions are all set to resume physical classes from today.
All the Degree, post graduation, engineering and polytechnic colleges will open today by following Covid-19 norms and standard operating procedure. Dr. Narayana has said, students who have received at least one dose of Covid 19 vaccine are eligible to attend the regular classes. This also applies to the staff in the colleges.
Students desiring to attend the classes in person have to submit a consent letter duly signed by parents in the prescribed format. The minister has clarified that students not willing to attend the physical classes may continue to attend online classes and contact classes. The Deputy Chief Minister informed that 74 percent of students in Higher Education level were vaccinated and remaining will be completed soon.
In Madhya Pradesh schools across the state are reopening after 16 months for students of Class 11th and 12th from today . State government has directed school managements to make all arrangements to ensure strict adherence to Covid-19 guidelines.
AIR Correspondent reports that schools will be opened in a phased manner. Schools will open for students only with 50% attendance.
If the situation remains under control, then classes for students of 9 and 10 will also be held from August 15. Government has also started a special vaccination campaign in all schools and colleges from July 26-30 to conduct complete vaccination of all teaching and non-teaching staff members across the state.
