Maharashtra: Search operation resumes at Mahad in Raigad district for bodies buried under rubble of landslide 

In Maharashtra, the search operation resumed today at Mahad in Raigad district for the bodies buried under the rubble of a landslide at Taliye. As informed by the Medical Officer of Mangaon Sub-District Hospital, a total of 46 bodies have been recovered from Talilye and 11 are from the accident at Poladpur. Till now, a total of 57 bodies have been recovered from the accidents in Mahad and Poladpur taluka.

 

A total of 1,000 people have been evacuated from the flood- affected areas in Raigad district. Even though the water in Mahad has receded, the Mumbai-Goa Highway is still jammed. Long queues of vehicles are seen on the highway.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray will reach Talilye village this afternoon and inspect the village affected by the flood and landslides.
