In Bengaluru, Karnataka the micro containment zones have increased from 44 on July 1st to 60 yesterday. The micro containment zones are those where over 10 Covid positive cases are reported in the last 10 days. To mitigate the spread of infection these containment zones are isolated from other parts of the city. Bommanahalli zone has the highest number of micro containment zones where the highest number of 712 positive cases is reported followed by Mahadevapura, East zone, South zone, West zone, R R nagar and Yelahanka.
Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara palike Chief Commissioner Gaurav Gupta has said that vaccination has reduced hospitalisation. On an average around 30 patients are getting admitted to hospitals under the Government quota in the city. He informed that over 55 percent of the population above the age of 18 are vaccinated with two doses and 15 percent have received both the doses. He said containment zones can come down if people follow Covid appropriate behaviour.
