Over 30 cr loans worth Rs 15.97 lakh crore sanctioned under Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana since Apr2015

Government has said that over 30 crore loans amounting to 15 lakh 97 thousand crore rupees have been sanctioned under Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana since inception of the Scheme in April, 2015.

Under the scheme, institutional credit up to 10 lakh rupees is provided for entrepreneurial activities to micro and small business units. Minister of State for Finance Dr Bhagwat Kisanrao Karad said this in a written reply to a question in the Rajya Sabha today.

He said, over 11.29 crore loans amounting to six lakh 41 thousand crore rupees have been disbursed across the country during financial year 2019-20 and 2020-21.

Dr Karad said, as per survey results, Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana has helped in generation of more than one crore net additional employment during 2015 to 2018.
