Over 41.99 cr vaccine doses provided to States, UTs so far: Union Health Ministry

Government on Sunday said that more than two crore 56 lakh unutilized Covid vaccine doses are still available with the States and Union Territories and private hospitals to be administered. Union Health Ministry said, more than 41.99 crore vaccine doses have been provided to States and UTs so far. The Ministry said a further 15 lakh 75 thousand 140 doses are in the pipeline.

The new phase of universalization of COVID-19 vaccination commenced from 21st of last month. The vaccination drive has been ramped up through availability of more vaccines, advance visibility of vaccine availability to States and UTs for enabling better planning by them, and streamlining the vaccine supply chain. As part of the nationwide vaccination drive, government has been supporting the States and UTs by providing them COVID Vaccines free of cost.
