119th Birthday of former CM of Tamil Nadu, K. Kamaraj celebrated in Puducherry

119th Birthday of former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, K. Kamaraj, who is revered as the father of renaissance of Education in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry was celebrated in Puducherry today. Leaders cutting across party lines paid floral tributes to the great leader of the masses.

It was K Kamaraj who introduced the Midday Meal Scheme in schools in a massive manner in India to make children attend schools and thereby improve their literacy.

Lt Governor of Puducherry Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan today paid floral tributes to the late leader’s statue in Puducherry. Chief Minister N. Rangasamy, Speaker of the Assembly, Selvam, Home Minister Namasivayam and BJP Leader V. Swaminathan and other leaders also paid floral respects to the late leader.
