PM Modi interacts with Odia sprinter Dutee Chand; Says, she was shining in arena of sports

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his interaction with the Tokyo Olympics-bound Indian athletes’ contingent today had a brief discussion with Odia sprinter Dutee Chand. Interpreting her name ‘Dutee’ as ‘Chamak,’ or Shine, the Prime Minister said, she was shining in the arena of sports.

AIR Correspondent reports, interacting with the Prime Minister, Dutee Chand shared her struggle both in personal and professional life. She said, she being a girl child and that too from a poor family has had a number of obstacles to jump over to reach the place she is now in.

She minced no words in thanking the Prime Minister for having given her support all along. She promised before the Prime Minister to give her best to win medals in the Tokyo Olympics for the nation. This is Dutee’s second engagement in the Olympics, this time to vie for the coveted 100 metre and 200 metre sprint.
