Over 38 crore 14 lakh vaccine doses administered so far under Nationwide Vaccination Drive

India has administered over 40 lakh 65 thousand doses of COVID vaccine to the eligible beneficiaries in the last 24 hours. With this more than 38 crore 14 lakh vaccine doses have been administered so far under Nationwide Vaccination Drive. The Union Health Ministry in a statement said that the country has reported 31 thousand 443 new cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours which the lowest in 118 days

The country’s active caseload has further declined to 4 lakh 31 thousand and 315, the lowest in 109 days. The active cases constitute 1.40 per cent of the total reported cases so far.

A total of 49 thousand 7 patients also recovered from the infection during the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to more than 3 crore 63 thousand. The country has registered further improvement in the Recovery Rate which has now increased to 97.28 percent.

Weekly Positivity Rate in the country remains below 5 percent, and is currently at 2.28 percent. Daily positivity rate stands at 1.81 percent, which is less than 3 percent for 22nd consecutive days. The Ministry said, testing capacity has been substantially ramped up and 43.40 crore tests for Covid-19 have been conducted in total. Yesterday, more than 17 lakh 40 thousand tests for Covid -19 were conducted.
