Govt says, 433.32 lakh tonnes of wheat have been procured so far in current Rabi Marketing Season

The Union Government has said that 433.32 lakh tonnes of wheat have been procured so far in the current Rabi Marketing Season. Agriculture Ministry said, 11.81 per cent more wheat has been procured in comparison to last year’s corresponding period. More than 49.16 lakh farmers have already been benefitted from the ongoing procurement operations with MSP value of Rs 85,581 crore.

The Government through its nodal agencies has procured over 10,07,000 tonnes of Moong, Urad, Tur, Gram, Masoor, Groundnut Pods, Sunflower seed, Mustard Seed and Soybean. The Ministry said, more than 6.17 lakh farmers of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Telangana, Haryana, Odisha and Rajasthan have been benefitted.
