The Karnataka government has decided to construct 9 lakh houses in two years under different Housing schemes in the state.
The decision was taken at a review meeting chaired by Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa in Bengaluru yesterday on housing schemes in the state. A subsidy of 1.75 lakh rupees to SC beneficiaries and 1.20 lakh to other categories of beneficiaries are being provided under the housing schemes of the Government.
The Central Government pays 60 percent subsidy of up to 72,000 rupees. In the meeting, the decision was taken to build hundred houses under each gram panchayat and distribute five thousand houses under the Chief Minister’s one lakh housing scheme on 15th August.
The Chief Minister has said that 6,200 crore rupees required to complete these housing projects will be released in a phased manner.
