In the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, following drone activity and frequent air space violation activities by mysterious flying objects for the past few days, the Jammu district administration has declared Raj Bhawan and Civil Secretariat as ‘No Fly Zones’ and also banned the use of drone cameras during LG’s event in the district.
The development came two weeks after militants targeted Air Force Station, Jammu with twin blasts followed by drone activity over vital military installations in several areas of Jammu. As per the order issued by the Deputy Commissioner, Jammu the airspace over Raj Bhawan and Civil Secretariat, Jammu has been declared as “No Fly Zone” and flying of drones and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) shall be strictly prohibited over and above these premises with immediate effect.
The order further reads, there shall be complete prohibition on flying of drones and UAVs over all areas/venues in district Jammu as and when Lieutenant Governor is scheduled to visit in connection with holding of events. The DC Jammu has asked the SSP, Jammu to ensure implementation of this order in letter and spirit.
