Govt says, more than 433 lakh tonnes of wheat has been procured so far in current Rabi Marketing Season

The Government today said that more than 433 lakh tonnes of wheat has been procured so far in the current Rabi Marketing Season. Union Agriculture Ministry said, 11.82 per cent more wheat has been procured in comparison to last year’s corresponding period. More than 49 Lakh farmers have already been benefitted from the ongoing procurement operations with MSP value of Rs 85,581 Crore.

The Government through its nodal agencies has procured over 9.84 lakh tonnes of Moong, Urad, Tur, Gram, Masoor, Groundnut Pods, Sunflower seed, Mustard Seed and Soyabean. The Ministry said, more than six lakh farmers of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Telangana, Haryana, Odisha and Rajasthan have been benefitted.
