Mumbai’s Special Court has remanded Girish Chaudhary, son-in-law of NCP leader Eknath Khadse into the Enforcement Directorate’s custody till Monday. He was arrested yesterday in a money laundering case linked to the purchase of a government land plot in Pune in 2016. The arrest was made after ED claimed that Chaudhary was not cooperating with the probe.
In 2017, Maharashtra Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) had registered an FIR against Eknath Khadse, his wife Mandakini, son-in-law Girish Chaudhary, and original land-owner Abbas Aqani. Even though the ACB has given a clean chit to Khadse, the ED has summoned him to appear before it today.
