Union Minister Ramdas Athwale leads protest rally at Azad Maidan in Mumbai over OBC, Maratha quotas

Union Minister for state for Social Justice and Empowerment Mr. Ramdas Athwale led a protest rally at Azad Maidan in Mumbai yesterday. The Republican Party of India organised this rally to raise demands including five per cent reservation qota for Muslims, reservations for Maratha and OBC, reservation in promotions to Dalit, tribals and Other Backward Classes and prevention of atrocities against Dalits.

On this occasion, Mr. Aathvale said that local body elections should not be held unless the political reservation of OBCs in local bodies is restored. Mr. Athavale further demanded that Ojhar Airport in Nashik be named after Karmaveer Dadasaheb Gaikwad.
