Tamil Nadu Minister reiterates govt would find legal solution to stop any reservoir project in Cauvery which hampers water supply to state

Tamil Nadu water resources development Minister Durai Murugan has again reiterated that the Government would find a legal solution to stop any reservoir project in Cauvery which would hamper the water supply to Tamil Nadu.

Reacting to Karnataka Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa’s statement that the State would go ahead with the Mekedatu Project, Durai Murugan told that lakhs of farmers in the delta areas of the State of Tamilnadu are dependent on the Cauvery water for agriculture as already pointed out in the letter written to the Karnataka Chief Minister. The Minister appealed to the Chief Minister to drop the project to enable proper water supply to Tamil Nadu.
