The Caseload in Bengaluru urban district has drastically come down in the last 15 days. It reported 715 new Covid cases and 15 deaths yesterday. There were 1863 discharges after recovery yesterday. The positivity rate has come down from 1.27 percent at the end of June to 0.93 percent yesterday. The case fatality rate has come down from 2.05 percent in the end of June to 1.81 percent yesterday.
AIR correspondent reports that the total Covid tests conducted yesterday stood at 67,410. Among the infected, 56 female and 138 male were in the age group of 20 and 29 and 71 female and 107 male were in the age group of 30 and 39. The active cases have come down from 58000 in May to 4000 today in the Bengaluru city.
After the announcement of relaxation, the city roads are buzzing with activities. The Chief Commissioner of Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike Gaurav Gupta has said that 54 teams of marshals are deployed in the city to ensure Covid appropriate behaviour. He said in wards with high caseload, containment and isolation measures continue. Densely populated areas are monitored closely and Covid tests are increased in these areas.
