Active Caseload of COVID-19 in country declines to 4 lakh 59 thousand; Recovery rate improves to 97.18 per cent

The recovery rate in the country stands at 97.18 per cent. More than 47 thousand patients recovered during last 24 hours. Till now, more than two crore 97 lakh 99 thousand people have recovered from COVID-19. Daily recoveries continue to outnumber the daily new cases for the 55th consecutive day.

In the last 24 hours, more than 43 thousand new cases were reported. India’s Active Caseload declined to four lakh 59 thousand 920. Active cases constitute 1.5 per cent of total cases. Weekly Positivity Rate remains below five per cent and it is currently at 2.39 per cent.

Daily positivity rate at 2.29 per cent and less than three per cent for 16 consecutive days. In all, 930 deaths were reported in last 24 hours. With this, the death toll due to the pandemic has reached four lakh four thousand 211.

COVID Testing capacity has been substantially ramped up. Till now, more than 42 crore 33 lakh tests have been conducted. Yesterday, more than 19 lakh seven thousand tests were conducted.
