Centre allocates free supply of over 30.5 lakh covid-19 vaccine doses to Odisha for July 2021

Centre has allocated free supply of over 30.5 lakh covid-19 vaccine doses and over 10 lakh doses through private corporates for Odisha for the month of July 2021. This was revealed by the Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas and Steel, Dharmendra Pradhan yesterday while reviewing the progress made by corporates in terms of covid-19 vaccination in Odisha.

Officials from the central ministries, public sector undertakings, corporates, private hospitals and other organisations took part in the virtual meet. AIR correspondent reports that, addressing the review meeting, the Minister said that stakeholders must leverage CoWin technology and create a holistic strategy to carry out workplace vaccination, near to home vaccination and vaccination at private hospitals.

Mr Pradhan asked to achieve the target of administering 10 lakh vaccine doses through the corporate route during the current month. He also called for setting up of a task force to monitor vaccination by the corporates in Odisha to help the state wriggle out of the pandemic, sooner than later. Meanwhile, Odisha set a record yesterday by administering over four lakh doses of covid-19 vaccines to beneficiaries on any single day.
