CBI arrests 4 more accused persons in ongoing investigation of bribery case

Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested four more accused persons in an ongoing investigation of a bribery case. Investment such as FDRs worth Rs 4.28 crore related to a public servant and his family members, property documents and keys of two bank lockers have been recovered during searches today.

Yesterday, cash amounting to Rs 2.75 crore and gold bars of around 23kg were recovered during searches at Delhi and Chennai. CBI had yesterday arrested former Principal Chief Mechanical Engineer, earlier posted at Integral Coach Factory, Perambur, in Chennai for demanding and accepting an alleged bribe of Rs 50 lakh as second instalment.

CBI had registered the case against him and others on allegations that the accused was indulging in various activities in collusion with a Director of Chennai based private firm and unknown persons in the award of tenders.
