Devendra Fadnavis slams Maha govt of making mockery of democracy by holding Assembly session for just two days

Leader of Opposition in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly, Devendra Fadnavis has slammed the state government of making a mockery of democracy by holding the session for just two days by giving the excuse of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The two-day monsoon session of the state legislature will begin today. Addressing a press conference in Mumbai Mr Fadnavis alleged that the ruling dispensation doesn’t want to face the opposition.

He said, though the government has once again tried to escape from the issues of people’s concern, the opposition will not live without exposing the face of the government. He added that once again the state government is making arrangements so that members of the legislature do not speak. Mr Fadnavis stated that the state has held seven conventions so far, covering only period of 36 days.

The leader of opposition said, the opposition has over a hundred topics that can be discussed and it is determined to raise the issues infront of media and public if not allowed in the state assembly. Mr. Fadnavis clarified that there is no enmity with Shiv Sena, but there are ideological differences between the two parties as they have left the party.
