National Investigation Agency (NIA) yesterday arrested two Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists in Darbhanga Railway station blast case in Bihar. Both the key accused, who hail from Shamli in Uttar Pradesh, were arrested from Hyderabad.
A case was registered on the 17th of this month over the parcel blast at Darbhanga Railway station and later NIA had taken up the investigation. The said parcel was booked at Secunderabad and had arrived in Secunderabad- Darbhanga Express.
In a statement, NIA said the preliminary investigation and examination of the accused persons revealed a trans-national conspiracy hatched by top operatives of proscribed terrorist organisation LeT to execute terror acts across India and cause large-scale damage to life and property.
Acting under the directions of Pakistan based handlers of LeT, arrested accused fabricated an incendiary IED and packed it in a parcel of cloth and booked the same in a long- distance train from Secunderabad to Darbhanga. One of the arrested accused had visited Pakistan in the year 2012 and had received training from handlers of LeT.
