Air Chief Marshal R K S Bhadauria has said that the bilateral defence cooperation has become an important pillar in the deep historical and fraternal ties between India and Bangladesh.
Addressing the commissioning ceremony as Chief Guest on the occasion of the President parade 2021 at BAF Academy, Jessore, Bangladesh on Monday during his 3-day visit to Bangladesh, Air Chief Bhadauria noted the rapid progress being made in all aspects of military level interaction between the two countries.
The Chief of Air Staff (CAS) described this event as a reflection of the excellent state of professional relationship between the two Air Forces based on mutual trust and understanding. He expressed confidence that his presence in BAFA during this historic 50th year of the Liberation War would reinforce the already strong and multi-dimensional partnership between the two nations, said a press release issued on the culmination of his visit to Bangladesh on Tuesday.
This was the first time that an Indian Air Chief was accorded the honour of reviewing the parade at BAFA.
During his stay in Bangladesh, The CAS held discussions with the Chief of Air Staff Bangladesh Air Force as well as the Chief of Army Staff and Principal Staff Officer, Armed Forces Division. Matters of mutual interest and avenues to further strengthen the all-encompassing defence cooperation were discussed during the meeting, said the press release.
This is the second visit of the Air Chief Marshal Bhadauria to Bangladesh in the current year. He had visited Bangladesh in February this year ahead of the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Bangladesh in March.
He left Bangladesh for India early in the morning on Tuesday.
