Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has said that continuous and bold reforms taken by the government in the last six years has made India a great place to do business. She said, India is rising as a global economic powerhouse with the help of macro-economic stability, infrastructure-led economic growth opportunities and financial sector reforms.
Finance Minister participated in the Global Investors Roundtable organized by the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum through video conferencing yesterday. During the event, investors deliberated over the potential investment opportunities in India and ongoing policy reforms that will facilitate Ease-of-Doing-Business in the country.
Mrs Sitharaman stressed on building a self-reliant India driven by Intent, Inclusion, Investment, Infrastructure and Innovation. She emphasized that India is committed to a long term relationship with US investors. She added that India provides multi-sectoral opportunities for investors and there are huge opportunities for investment. She said, new opportunities have emerged for foreign investors with recent FDI reforms, privatization policy and Production Linked Incentive Scheme.
Highlighting the efforts of the Government to contain the spread of Covid-19 pandemic, Mrs Sitharaman said, India is witnessing a significant decline in new Covid cases. She said, strong relief and reform measures have been taken by the Government during the pandemic.
The US-India Strategic Partnership Forum is a non-profit organization. The primary objective of this Forum is to strengthen the India-US bilateral and strategic partnership through policy advocacy in the fields of economic growth, entrepreneurship, employment-creation and innovation.
