Asian shares today rose, tracking gains on Wall Street overnight that lifted the Nasdaq and the S&P 500 indexes to record highs after an infrastructure deal embraced by U.S. President Joe Biden in the Senate.
Hong Kong’s Hang Seng surged 1.4 percent and China’s Shanghai Composite Index ended 1.2 percent up. Japan’s Nikkei-225 gained 0.7 percent and South Korea’s KOSPI added half a percent. Singapore’s Straits Times added marginally by 0.1 percent.
European shares were mixed and trading in a narrow range in intra day trade.
London’s FTSC-100 added 0.1 percent while France’s CAC and Germany’s DAX, both slipped 0.1 percent
