Government has dismissed media reports which allege non-transparent allocation of COVID-19 vaccines to States. The Health Ministry has termed the allegations as baseless saying the distribution of vaccine is done in a transparent manner based on population of a state, caseload, state’s utilisation efficiency and wastage factors.
The Ministry clarified that the Central government continues to allocate COVID-19 vaccines to States and UTs in a transparent manner. The information about the vaccine supply, consumption by the States, balance and unutilised vaccine doses, along with vaccine supply in the pipeline is regularly shared through press releases. It added that the vaccination program is built on scientific and epidemiological evidence, WHO guidelines and global best practices.
