Maharashtra Government has decided to resume free COVID- 19 vaccination of the age group 18 to 29 years from today in government hospitals. All beneficiaries from this age group will be able to get free vaccines at government hospitals in the state.
Due to limited availability of vaccines, Maharashtra Government had suspended vaccination of the age group of 18 to 44 years in the second week of May in government hospitals. While interested beneficiaries were able to get vaccinated at private hospitals or corporate vaccination centres. From Saturday, the State Government had allowed vaccination of the age group of 30 to 44 years in govt. hospitals. Maharashtra’s Health Minister Rajesh Tope announced that from today, youths between the age group of 18 to 29 years can also be vaccinated at govt. hospitals.
