In Odisha, the COVID-19 positivity rate has come down below 5 per cent for the second consecutive day today. The state reported a total of 2957 new cases from out of 61,607 samples tested during the last 24 hours.
AIR Correspondent reports, while the positivity rate has scaled down to 4.79 per cent today, the COVID-19 trajectory in the state continues to dangle down with each passing day. The state now has a total active caseload of about 35 thousand from a high of 1.09 lakh when the viral transmission was peaking. Along with this, as many as 18 out of the 30 districts each, have reported cases below 100 today with a maximum of 408 cases in Khordha district and a minimum of only three in Jharsuguda district. However, the state also reported 38 fresh fatalities today taking the death toll due to COVID-19 to 3671.
