The Hyderabad-based, ICMR-National Institute of Nutrition along with the Telangana Government is taking up for the first time the sero-surveillance of prevalence of COVID-19 antibodies survey among children in the state. The Survey will be undertaken today in Jangaon, Kamareddy and Nalgonda districts as part of its 4th Round of Sero-surveillance Survey. It will continue for three to four days. The NIN and the State Government have held three rounds of sero-survey earlier.
For the first time the sero-survey is being held among children aged between six to nine years. It will also cover adolescents of 10 to 17 years, adults of 18 years and above and health care workers. AIR correspondent reports that about 400 subjects will be covered from 10 villages of each of the three districts. In addition, 100 health care workers from district, community health care centres will also be included.
