Yoga is good for community, Immunity and Unity, says PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that Yoga has an inherent power to connect. In a letter addressed to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina of Bangladesh Mr. Modi said that Yoga is good for community, immunity and unity. He said that the theme of the International Day of Yoga celebration this year reflects the concern for good health and well-being of people across the globe. It is an endeavour to ensure that we focus on fitness as well as wellness, said the Prime Minister.

Underlining the benefits of Yoga in strengthening the immune system, Prime Minister Modi said that Yoga can help build immunity through breathing exercises that strengthen the lungs. Regular practice of Yoga has beneficial effects on mental health of people as well.

Thanking Prime Minister Hasina for the cooperation and effort extended by one and all in making the International Day of Yoga celebrations a resounding success in Bangladesh, Prime Minister Modi expressed the hope that it will continue to enjoy the support of Bangladesh in years ahead.
