Positivity rate of COVID-19 infection drops to 3.17 per cent in Puducherry

In the Union Territory of Puducherry, the test positivity rate of COVID-19 infection dropped to 3.17 per cent with 233 new cases reported today. Puducherry accounted for 186 of the total positive cases, followed by 30 in Karaikal, four in Yanam and 13 cases in Mahe region. In all, 428 persons recovered and discharged while three persons died.

The Union Territory had 3,364 active cases of which 561 were in hospitals and 2,803 in home isolation. The cumulative caseload till date was 1,15,080 with 1,09,990 recoveries. Following the on-going six-day intensified vaccination drive kicked off on 16th, about 4, 14,157 persons, including 2 nd dose administered vaccination.

The recovery rate increased to 95.58 per cent and the case fatality rate stands at 1.50 per cent.
